Join me for a guided tour of Arundel, starting from the top of the town and making our way down to the river. We'll begin at the impressive gothic Roman Catholic cathedral, where you'll learn about the fate of Sir Philip Howard, imprisoned in the Tower of London in 1585. From there, we'll pass by the main church of St. Nicholas, built in 1380, and its associated priory, now home to the tiniest theatre I've ever seen!

The architecture of Arundel is truly a sight to behold, with some original Tudor buildings dating back to the 16th century, and the majority of buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, all built on medieval foundations. As we walk through the town center, we'll see the Victorian print works, the old coaching inn, and the bustling old market square.

Our tour will end by the River Arun, once a port of significant size and importance, and the site of the first cross-channel 'ferry,' transporting soldiers and monks in the 13th century! There is so much history to share about this town, and all the while, we'll be surrounded by the stunning Arundel Castle, built after the Norman Conquest of 1066. While the castle is certainly a highlight, there is much more to discover in Arundel, and I can't wait to show you!
